Dispatchers

 

EMAS Dipatchers are trained to deal with the high paced enviornment of EMS dispatching as well as mastering the multi tasking of answering incoming phone calls, the scheduling of runs, the dispatching of crews as well as the constant critical flow of communication between patients, facilities, crews and EMAS Administrators. Ever the constant problem solvers, dispatchers are often the heart beat of EMS as they keep the various parts working together. No certification is required.

 

Requirements: No certifications required but will be required to pass EMAS dispatcher training

Wheelchair Van Drivers
 

EMAS Wheelchair Van Drivers are trained to deal with the safe loading and unloading of patients to and from facilities as well as private residences. These men and women communicate through our dispatch system to receive orders for patient pick ups and returns and operate solo to achieve the safe transport of our patients. Wheelchair Van Drivers do not have to have any type of certification but do have to pass a driving record check.

 

Requirements: EMAS Driving Record Check

EMTs
 

EMAS EMTs are required to be certified in the state of Indiana to operate as a EMT-Basic. They operate on a state certified ambulance with the necessary equipment to peform a basic life support level of care (BLS) for patients in both non-emergent and emergent situations. Our EMTs are required to have an up to date CPR certification and are encouraged to be involved to continuing education from both the EMAS Training sessions as well as audit and review sessions with out medical direction at St. Francis in Indianapolis.

 

Requirements: Indiana EMT-Basic certification as well as a current CPR certification

Paramedics
 

As the highest level of pre-hospital care, EMAS Paramedics are required to be both certified with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and be licensed to practice as a paramedic within the state of indiana. EMAS Paramedics are also required to have a current CPR certification as well as a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Our paramedics are staffed on a state certified ambulance with the equipment to perform advanced life support level of care (ALS) for patients in both emergent and non-emergent situations. EMAS Paramedics are required to participate in Audit and Review sessions for our medical direction at St. Francis of Indianapolis.

 

Requirements: NREMT Certification, Indiana Paramedic License, CPR & ALS Certifications
